“It’s time to get smart about water preservation systems!”

– Philip Symons

  • Our History

After much research and development eWasha was tasked with the manufacture, supply and installation of recycling plants at the new King Shaka International Airport for Europcar, Budget and First Car and Hertz Car Hire companies in 2009/2010.

  • Our Journey

Between Europcar, Budget Car, First Car and Hertz Car, a total of 1250 vehicles get washed each day – water-saving strategies were needed. After much research and development, eWasha implemented a system that has, to date, successfully reduced their Municipal water usage by an impressive 90%.

Work then expanded to Gauteng, and the broader Western and Eastern Cape. eWasha has provided two water recycling systems at Cape Town International Airport (washing 750 cars each day) and Jet Park Johannesburg (washing 1000 cars per day). This sits amongst numerous others such as NMI dealerships, Barloworld dealerships, Imperial centers and includes Engen and Shell Garages.

Our focus has been on car hire and larger commercial operations, with our clients rolling out the eWasha Recycling Plants at all their major depots nationwide. With over 100 plants in operation, eWasha has even crossed borders into Botswana and Mozambique.

Recent drought conditions have resulted in the successful design and installation of emergency water supply systems. Our clients range from corporate to domestic users, including businesses offering accommodation. The Municipalities of Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg have also realized the need to conserve water within their own operations, and have installed a total of eight eWasha plants at their bus depots.

  • A winning formula

Our design philosophy is simple. Using naturally occurring bacteria to clean the water we avoid specialised parts and aim to provide simple, rugged and effective systems. There are no chemicals or complicated filters required in the eWasha system. Ours is a 100% natural biological process. There is also no discharge to a sewer since all wash water is recycled, and the reduced municipal consumption means a minimum saving of 80%. When you introduce rainwater harvesting on top of this, consumption drops even further.

  • Building a better future

The eWasha team and our contractors are passionate about the responsibility we have to our environment. Increased water costs, inflated waste disposal costs and alarming degrees of water rationing around our country have sharply pulled the importance of water into focus. Our mission is to not only build positive cost implications as the price of water continues to climb, but to provide a water saving solution that benefits our environment long-term.
